Meaning
“Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya” is the most important mantra in Vaishnavism. It is called the Dvadasakshari Mantra (twelve-syllable mantra). This mantra was uttered by Prahlada in the Vishnu Purana. Vasudeva means both “son of Vasudeva” (i.e., Krishna) and “the all-pervading Supreme Being.”
Complete meaning: “I bow to Lord Vasudeva (Krishna/Vishnu), who is the Supreme Lord endowed with all divine attributes.”
