आरती कीजै हनुमान लला की। दुष्ट दलन रघुनाथ कला की॥ जाके बल से गिरिवर कांपे। रोग दोष जाके निकट न झांके॥ अंजनि पुत्र महा बलदाई। देवन के काज संवारे दाई॥ भैरवी भूत पिशाच निकट नहिं आवै। महावीर जब नाम सुनावै॥ नासै रोग हरे सब पीरा। जपत निरंतर हनुमत बलबीरा॥ संकट से हनुमान छुड़ावै। मन क्रम वचन ध्यान जो लावै॥ सब पर राम तपस्वी राजा। तिनके काज सकल तुम साजा॥ और मनोरथ जो कोई लावै। सोई अमित जीवन फल पावै॥ कांचन थार कपूर लौ छाई। आरती करत अंजना माई॥ जो हनुमान जी की आरती गावे। बसि बैकुण्ठ परम पद पावे॥
Transliteration

āratī kījai hanumāna lalā kī। duṣṭa dalana raghunātha kalā kī॥ jāke bala se girivara kāṃpe। roga doṣa jāke nikaṭa na jhāṃke॥ añjanī putra mahā baladāī। devana ke kāja saṃvāre dāī॥ bhairavī bhūta piśāca nikaṭa nahiṃ āvai। mahāvīra jaba nāma sunāvai॥ nāse roga hare saba pīrā। japata niraṃtara hanumata balabīrā॥ saṃkaṭa se hanumāna chuḍāvai। mana krama vacana dhyāna jo lāvai॥ saba para rāma tapasvī rājā। tinake kāja sakala tuma sājā॥ aura manoratha jo koī lāvai। soī amita jīvana phala pāvai॥ kāñcana thāra kapūra lau chāī। āratī karata añjanā māī॥ jo hanumāna jī kī āratī gāve। basi baikuṇṭha parama pada pāve॥

Translation

Perform the aarti of beloved Hanuman, who is the manifestation of Lord Raghunath (Rama), the crusher of the wicked. By whose strength great mountains tremble. Diseases and faults dare not come near Him. Son of Anjani, bestower of great strength. Who accomplishes the tasks of the gods. Evil spirits, ghosts, and demons dare not come near, when the name of the great warrior (Hanuman) is uttered. All diseases are destroyed and all suffering is removed, by constantly chanting the name of the mighty warrior Hanuman. Hanuman liberates from all calamities, those who meditate upon Him with mind, deed, and speech. Above all is Lord Rama, the ascetic king. You accomplished all of His tasks. And whoever brings their heart's desire before Him, attains limitless fruits in their life. A golden plate glowing with the flame of camphor. Mother Anjana performs the aarti. Whoever sings this aarti of Hanuman Ji, attains the supreme abode of Vaikuntha (heaven of Lord Vishnu).

Introduction

“Aarti Kijai Hanuman Lala Ki” is the most popular aarti dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Hanuman, the son of the wind god (Pavanputra), is the supreme devotee and servant of Lord Rama. This aarti describes His immense strength, devotion, and unwavering dedication to Raghunath (Lord Rama).

Significance

The Hanuman Aarti holds special significance as Hanuman Ji is known as Sankat Mochan (remover of difficulties) and Bajrangbali (the one with a body as strong as a thunderbolt). Singing this aarti is believed to destroy fear, calamities, and evil forces. Performing this aarti on Tuesdays and Saturdays is considered especially fruitful.

How to Perform

  1. Light a ghee or oil lamp before the idol or image of Lord Hanuman
  2. Offer sindoor (vermillion), chameli (jasmine) oil, and red flowers
  3. Sing the aarti while moving the plate in a clockwise circular motion before Hanuman Ji
  4. Offer boondi or laddoo as prasad
  5. Reciting the Hanuman Chalisa after the aarti is considered extremely auspicious
