Glory to Mother Ambe Gauri! Glory to Shyama Gauri! Hari (Vishnu), Brahma, and Shiva meditate upon You day and night. Sindoor adorns the parting of Her hair, a mark of musk on Her forehead. Both eyes are radiant, and Her face is as beautiful as the moon. Her body gleams like gold, adorned in red garments. A garland of red flowers is beautifully draped around Her neck. She sits majestically on a lion, wielding a sword and a skull-cup. Gods, humans, and sages serve Her, for She removes their sorrows. Earrings adorn Her ears, a pearl graces Her nose. Her radiance shines like millions of moons and suns combined. She slew the demons Shumbha and Nishumbha, and killed Mahishasura. She destroyed the demon Dhumralochan, intoxicated with divine power day and night. She destroyed Chanda and Munda, defeated Raktabeeja. She slew both Madhu and Kaitabha, and freed the gods from fear. You are Brahmani, Rudrani, and Queen Kamala. The Agamas and Nigamas (scriptures) praise You; You are the chief queen of Lord Shiva. Sixty-four yoginis sing, and Bhairava dances. Cymbals and mridanga drums play, and the damaru (small drum) resounds. You are the Mother of the world, You alone are the sustainer. You remove the sorrows of devotees and bestow happiness and wealth. Her four arms shine brilliantly, holding the gesture of granting boons. Men and women who serve Her attain the fulfillment of their heart's desires. A golden plate shines with wicks of agaru and camphor. Enthroned in the Shri Malketu shrine, Her radiance equals millions of jewels. Whoever sings this aarti of Shri Ambe Ji, Shivananda Swami says, attains happiness and prosperity.
